Optimal Stock and Overclocked Real World Testing

The Kingston HyperX 1GB low latency modules achieve a slightly faster time than the rest, despite only having half the memory capacity they have the lowest memory timings. The rest of the field is spread only a few seconds apart, overclocking has little benefit over lowering latencies at stock speed.


We repeated the large and small file compression and encryption tests on the 1GB modules and the results remained the same. We can only conclude that a combination of the increased clock speed and limited module size somehow causes a drop in speed. The Corsair seems to work best when overclocking, as there is a several second decrease in the test score. However both the 2GB Kingston HyperX and 2GB OCZ FlexXLC kit don't see any increase in overclocking from simply optimising the memory timings at stock. Both perform about the same, and the whole field is only separated by a few seconds.
